Hareon Solar Technology Co, one of the largest producers of silicon wafers in China, brought in 2.54 billion yuan ($398.8 million) in revenue during the first half of this year, down 24 percent year-on-year, according to the financial report released by the company late Monday. It also reported a net loss of 134 million yuan during the same period, in sharp contrast with a 230-million-yuan profit in the first six months last year.
Hareon stated in May that its plans to expand its silicon wafer capacity. A 300-million-yuan tax return in the first half kept its capital level stable over the period.
