The Myanmar Airways International (MAI) is planning to purchase Airbus Neo and Boeing Max soon to reinforce its international flight, according to airline sources Thursday.
MAI has had a plan to launch Mandalay-Gaya-Mandalay route and Yangon-Bangkok-Singapore-Bangkok-Yangon route in October as well as Yangon-Hong Kong-Yangon route in December.
The airline will also increase its flight frequency to Singapore, Guangzhou, Siem Reap and Phnon Penh in October, the sources said.
The airline was presented Tourism Alliance Awards at International Travel Expo held in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam this month.
Meanwhile, seven more foreign airlines -- Korean Air, Dragon Air, EVA Air, All Nippon Airways, Qatar Airways, Condor Airlines, Trans Asia Airways -- are prepared to fly Myanmar in October in addition to the existing foreign airlines in operation.
Apart from the 64-year-old state-owned Myanma Airways (MA), there are also five other private-run domestic airlines in Myanmar, namely Air Mandalay, Yangon Airways, Air Bagan, Asian Wings and Air Kanbawza.
