It was informed from the Geely branch in Belarus that the automobiles assembled in the local factory will be officially launched into the Belarus market this month.
Batrakov, the manager of the branch company, explained that the Geely SC series are being assembled by the means of SDK (Semi Knock Down) in Borisov. And based on the current production scale, the company can expect 10,000 units annually. In line with the relative contracts, the company plans to expand the sales network throughout the whole territory of Belarus and promises to offer a complete spectrum of after-sale services.
The Geely SC cars adopt the FWD (front wheel drive) design with manual transmission and have met the Euro IV emission standards. The manager said that the economy SC cars, with perfect cost-effectiveness, have a promising future on the local market.
The Belarus-assembled SC cars are expected to be exported to other countries in the future. Up to now, the cars are undergoing relevant tests in Russia and may gain the market access to Russia in April or May of 2013.
The Geely factory in Belarus was co-founded by the Zhejiang Geely Holding Group and the BLZ in December of 2011. According to the contract, the company will build new factories within the territory of the Republic of Belarus. A number of 3,000 employees will be hired and 100,000 to 120,000 Geely cars will be produced annually then.
