JAC Motors said Tuesday that it will recall 117,072 vehicles starting March 30 due to eroded side panels, following a report by a China Central Television program Friday.
JAC will provide free testing for all affected cars made from November 15, 2008 to December 31, 2011 and change any panels that have eroded. The company will use anti-corrosion wax to treat cars that do not show any erosion.
The company apologized Friday to affected drivers, and said it would "provide the best solution as soon as possible to maintain customer satisfaction."
