Michele Kobke from Germany has worn corsets nearly 24 hours a day for three years to cinch her waist to 54 centimeters - all with world record ambitions.
The 24-year-old woman can bind her waist down to 40.6 centimeters, according to reports.
Though she only has a little more to go before reaching the 38.1 centimeter record, Kobke says she has trouble standing up without wearing her corset due to her developing muscular atrophy in her back and abdomen.

A construction worker in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province stopped a colleague from raping his teenage daughter after claiming he had a "bad premonition" while at work, on August 9.
The worker, surnamed Cao from Henan Province, rushed home after he claims feeling something awful was going to happen to his 13-year-old daughter, only to find a fellow worker trying to rape her in their dormitory room.
Police detained the suspect surnamed Zhang from Gansu Province, who works with Cao at an unnamed construction site in Taiyuan.
Zhang admitted he had planned to rape the girl ever since she arrived to visit this summer. Zhang told police he snuck into Cao's dorm room after discovering the girl was left alone that morning.

Ministry of Finance announced on August 12 that those pursuing master's degrees next year will be eligible for living stipends of up to 6,000 yuan($980.40) in order to help students focus on their research.
The increases, which will take effect in the autumn of 2014, are almost two times those offered last year, up from 3,000 yuan ($490.20) at Shanghai's East China Normal University and 2,400 yuan ($392.16) at Peking University, according to the announcement.
