Ghana has selected 22 home-based players into the Black Stars team to begin camping on Wednesday in Obuasi, 270 km north of Accra.

The team will be preparing for an international friendly match against Libya to be played in Tunisia on August 30, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) said on Tuesday.

Ghana booked a place at the 2014 Championship for African Nations (CHAN) scheduled for South Africa following the withdrawal of Benin from the competition.

Ghana was scheduled to battle Benin away last July in the ultimate two-leg qualifier to represent the Zone.

The qualifiers are played on regional basis with the composition of the finalists as follows: two each from North Zone and West A Zone; and three each from West B Zone, Central Zone, Central East; and South Zone (including hosts South Africa).

The CHAN competition was designed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for only home-based players in the domestic leagues of its member-countries.

The maiden edition of the competition was won by the Democratic Republic of Congo who beat Ghana 2-0 in the final in March 2009.
