Papua New Guinea (PNG) police have arrested two more men suspected of attacking an Australian trekking party on PNG's Black Cat Track, Australian media reported Monday.
Seven Australians, a New Zealander and their local porters were ambushed while trekking along the Black Cat Track in Morobe province on Sept. 10.
Three local porters were dead and nine foreign trekkers were seriously injured in the attack.
PNG Police said they arrested the two men in Salamaua and Mubo in Morobe Province.
The pair have been taken to Lae for questioning by police.
The arrests bring the total number of people in custody over the attack and robbery on the Black Cat Track to six.
Provincial Police Commander Leo Lamei said investigators believe there are still three more suspects on the run.
