Chinese paddlers won the men's and the women's singles, the men's and the women's doubles here on Saturday, collecting six out of seven golds in total in the table tennis tournament of East Asian Games (EAG).

In the women's doubles final, Chen Meng and Zhu Yuling beat Yang Haeun and Park Young Sook from South Korea 11-7, 11-3, 6-11, 7-11, 11-9 and 11-7.

"We made full preparation for the competition and had a good start in the first two sets. But we commited too many unforced errors to the opponents later," said Zhu.

Chen and Zhu called for a timeout after trailing by 4-6 in the fifth set and got onto the right track then.

"It's a turning point. Our coach told us to be more patient and more aggressive," said Zhu.

The women's singles title went to Chen Meng, who beat Zhu Yuling 11-5, 11-7, 9-11, 12-14, 11-9, 11-1.

"I want to express my thanks to Zhu. Without such a strong opponent, I cannot improve myself little by little," said Chen.

Fan Zhendong came back into the game after trailing by 1-3 in sets to beat Yan An 9-11, 11-7, 6-11, 13-15, 11-4, 12-10, 14-12, in the men's singles final.

"It's a tough game. I missed some chances in the first two sets due to lack of preparation before the competition," said Fan.

"But in my heart, I didn't want to lose the game, and implemented my tactics afterwards," he said.

In men's doubles final, Hao Shuai and Yan An beat their teammates Zhou Yu and Fan Zhendong 7-11, 11-6, 9-11, 11-7, 11-8, 8-11 and 11-8.

"Zhou and Fan are very aggressive. All four players played at a high level. I'm happy with the result," said Hao.

DPR Korean Kim Hyok Bong and Kim Jong were crowned in mix doubles on Friday.
