A driver was injured Tuesday night after the road caved in under her scooter in Baoshan district.

The driver and her scooter both dropped into the 1.5-meter-deep hole left by the cave-in at the intersection of Hulan and Tonghe roads.

Firefighters, police, and emergency medical personnel helped rescue the woman. She suffered contusions to her head and face. Road workers said the cave-in might have been caused by a heavy vehicle crushing the road.
