Beijing Guoan plan to sack head coach Aleksandar Stanojevic, Wednesday's Beijing Youth Daily reported.

Guoan's defeat to Guangzhou Evergrande at the semifinals of the Chinese FA Cup is considered the main reason for Stanojevic's departure as Guizhou Renhe, who finished one place behind Guoan in the 2013 Chinese Super League season, defeated Evergrande in the FA Cup finals.

Stanojevic, who extended his contract with Guoan for two years in September, was on vacation after the end of 2013 season. He was reportedly "shocked" when informed that he was going to be sacked, as he said when Guoan offered him the new contract he received several offers from European clubs.

Guoan will play a key match on February 15 in Beijing, a qualifying playoff for the 2014 Asian Champions League.
