Since the famous Hollywood movie
The World of Suzie Wong (1960) was released, describing a romantic story between an American painter and Oriental beauty Suzie Wong, the name Suzie Wong has become a symbol for the mysterious East.
Twelve years ago, the glittering name Suzie Wong found an address in the imperial city, Beijing.
Suzie Wong is an enchanted club with five areas.
The Western area offers a DJ and a wooden dance floor. People can gather and meet each other around the DJ stage and enjoy the party.
The classic Chinese area is a champagne bar, where customers can chill out to comfortable groovy, soulful and disco-inflected house music.
The attic loft is full of sofas and provides each guest with a private space that directly looks out onto the bar area.
The outdoor terrace provides a romantic area with an island theme, giving guests a chance to step outside and enjoy the fresh air and cool breeze.
The exclusive VIP room is luxuriously appointed and provides customers with a private space for entertaining.
Bars are a product of foreign culture, but Suzie Wong is nonetheless deeply steeped with classical Chinese beauty.
The charming old Chinese staircases entice people to explore layer after layer of entertainment areas.
In the corner of the wooden stairs, lotus flowers in water vats are illuminated by dim lights.
To be a high-end club, Suzie Wong has personalized its service.
"First of all, this is a safe and relaxed place. Many stars don't have to wear a mask or sit in the VIP room when they come to us, but can just be a normal person who can relax over a couple of drinks," said Angela Lee, founder of Suzie Wong.
"Secondly, we have certain requirements for dress. Be sure to dress in a fashionable way. We refuse entry to people who wear slippers and shorts. These strict standards help create a high-level club."
Suzie Wong is an international forum, both for foreigners who want to learn more about China and for China stepping into the global village.
Some of the venue's landmark parties include their Pink party, Las Vegas Night and Ye' Shanghai.
In April, the venue will host the Suzie Wong International Music Festival.
Lee is a successful career woman, but a soft and filial girl in her private life.
As a devout Buddhist, Lee hopes to bring happiness to everyone.
"We are committed to providing customers a taste of the luxurious lifestyle and the feeling of warm home," said Lee.
"A lot of guests have been faithfully coming for 12 years,"
"They come because of their warm memories and connection to the place. Many people are grateful to us for we give them a sense of belonging.
