On May 27, Peak Sport held an award ceremony for its student competition for business plans.
The competition, called the Peak Cup, called on students to devise ways for Chinese companies to establish sporting goods businesses overseas.
During the awards ceremony at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), Xu Jingnan, the chairman of Peak Sport Products Co Ltd, presented awards to the seven teams that won the competition, and released details of the Peak Sport annual corporate social responsibility (CSR) report.
With the cooperation of UIBE, the Peak Cup competition was held in early 2014. Its goals were to encourage university students to open up their own business, help Peak foster outstanding international practitioners, help youngsters to realize their dreams of establishing a business, and offer them international perspectives.
After more than five months of market research and design, seven groups of university students were chosen by experts of the e-commerce research center and global market research center of UIBE, Peak Sport and other successful entrepreneurs.
The top group will have the opportunity to establish their business via the international platform of Peak Sport.
Hong Junjie, the president of UIBE, said that the Peak Cup is a win-win cooperative trial of enterprise and academia. "This activity enables schools to better understand the personnel requirements of enterprises, encourages students to establish businesses, and helps enterprises find the personnel they need," said Hong.
Xu also sent his best wishes to future business founders. "Creating an international brand is a glorious, arduous and long-term thing to do," said Xu. "We hope that we may walk along with Chinese youngsters, and together, make an international brand that is truly from China and by the Chinese, united in strength."
During the ceremony, Peak Sport released its CSR report for 2013. This is the sixth CSR report from Peak Sport since the first one was released in 2008.
Xu said that CSR is the basic principle of an enterprise moving into the international market.
"Through a thorough CSR system, Peak's expectation is to be a good member of the community of international enterprises, and become a respectable Chinese brand worldwide," said Xu.
Meanwhile, Peak Sport announced the official appointment of its image ambassadors for Peak Love, a program aimed at promoting the public interest in sports.
The famous actor Li Jiahang and the international performer Smirnova Anzelika were honored as ambassadors.
In the 2013 CSR report, Peak Sport highlighted its efforts at expanding its brand. The CSR report also highlighted Peak Sport's efforts to adopt eco-friendly materials into the innovation and manufacturing of new products since 2013.
"Small enterprises seek to benefit themselves. Large enterprises care about making a contribution," Xu said.
