Chinese travel website Qyer.com announced on May 29 it had teamed up with American startup Airbnb to jointly expand tourist services for Chinese users. Both sides' strategic cooperation covers online and offline activities, marketing, and promotion of special tourism destinations worldwide.
Airbnb, a San Francisco startup that allows users to provide their homes to travelers, is a trusted community marketplace for people to list and book unique accommodation around the world.
"China's outbound tourism market is full of vitality and business opportunities. We've been working to create unique travel experiences for tourists. We spare no effort to bring them an unforgettable travel experience by forging ties between Chinese travelers and homeowners from all over the world," said Varsha Rao, head of global operations for Airbnb.
Cai Jinghui, chief operating officer of Qyer.com, said the alliance would deliver many benefits. "Chinese travelers are becoming more mature, longing to experience local customs and culture in a more meaningful manner. To this end, Airbnb is a great partner for us," said Cai.
