Chinese artist Chen Fu held an exhibition at France’s Palais de la Méditerranée on June 14 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and France and French National Day.
Chen, the standing vice president of the China Art Academy, displayed 21 of his traditional ink paintings at the event titled "Paintings tell China – Chen Fu’s exhibition" under the invitation of China International Culture Communication Center (CICCC) and the Nice government.
Deputy Mayor of Nice Bernard Asso was on hand for the event’s opening ceremony. Other distinguished guests included Long Yuxiang, executive chairman of CICCC and Jean Dominique Giuliani, the Chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation.
The exhibition was viewed among experts as an important step for Chinese modern art for its interesting use of traditional techniques to maintain Chinese styles and features.
The exhibition will continue to June 18.
