Visitors examine an exhibit of items from the Zhongshan Warship at the Soong Ching Ling Mausoleum on Songyuan Road Monday. The three-month exhibit, which opened Monday, features about 60 items retrieved from the sunken warship. The ship was named after Sun Yat-sen, the founder of The Republic of China (1912-1949), whose name in Putonghua is "Sun Zhongshan." Japanese troops bombed the ship near Wuhan, Hubei Province, during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1937-45). The ship was salvaged in 1997. Photo: Yang Hui/GT
