The 2014 Kumho Tire Ladies Open was held at Weihai Point Hotel & Golf Resort in Weihai, Shandong Province, from July 4 to 6.

The tournament was hosted by a combination of the General Administration of Sport of China, China Golf Association, Weihai Point Hotel & Golf Resort and South Korea's sports brand, Sportizen.

A key tournament on the Asian women's professional golf circuit, the open attracted top professional golfers from around the world. With favorable weather conditions throughout the weekend, this highly anticipated tournament drew large crowds to this world-class links course.

Known for its tight fairways and strong sea breezes, Weihai Point Hotel & Golf Resort requires accuracy off the tee and deft touches around the greens.

Kim Hyo-joo, the South Korean teenage sensation, eased to victory with a final round score of 69. So dominant was the 18-year-old throughout the tournament that she finished a staggering seven shots ahead of the field.

China's Feng Shanshan put together some impressive rounds over the weekend, finishing in a respectable seventh place. Her performances placed her the best among fellow domestic competitors.

"I don't consider it a bad finish," said Feng. "It was my first time to take part in the competition in Weihai, but I will definitely spare no efforts to work hard and come back to Weihai again next year."
