 "We had thought that it was the father who abetted the son in the theft, but it turns out that it was the son who abetted the father."

A 15-year-old boy from Anhui Province stole a mountain bike on July 26 outside of Xinjiangwancheng Station on metro Line 10. Because he could not open the lock on the bike and ride it away, he called his father. But rather than stopping his son from stealing, the father put the bike on his electric scooter, and fled the scene with his son. Police caught them 15 minutes later. The son and father each got five days of administrative detention.
