Cambodia will organize the 3rd Sea Festival on Dec. 12-14 in Southern Koh Kong province with the aim of attracting more tourists to this coastal province, tourism minister Thong Khon said Monday.
"We expect that the 3-day sea festival will draw about 200,000 local and foreign visitors," he said, noting that last year's festival, held in coastal Kep province, received nearly 150,000 visitors.
According to the minister, a number of sports and entertainment events will be held at the celebrations. Those include live concert, artistic performance, fireworks, food and beverage show, and beach and water sports as well as aero show.
He said the event aims to promote the potential tourism of the kingdom's coastline after it was registered as a member of the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays in the world in May, 2011.
Cambodia has a pristine coastline stretching 450 km over four southern provinces of Preah Sihanouk, Kampot, Kep and Koh Kong.
