Li Yuanchao met on Tuesday with Foreign Minister of Cape Verde, Jorge Tolentino.
Li said China and Cape Verde are good brothers, friends and partners, and bilateral cooperation has maintained healthy and rapid development since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
China is ready to work with Cape Verde to promote traditional friendship, cement political mutual trust, and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in areas of agriculture, health, education and tourism to lift bilateral ties to a higher level, he said.
Tolentino said the people of Cape Verde hold friendly feelings toward Chinese people, adding that Cape Verde welcomes Chinese investment.
He said he hopes the two countries can strengthen people-to-people exchanges and welcomed the establishment of the Confucius Institute in Cape Verde.
