A woman in Wuhan, Hubei Province who ate pigs' feet for three consecutive days ended up with a dislocated jaw, media reported on Sunday.

Wei Qin (pseudonym), 24, had her jaw reset by doctors at nearby Hankou Hospital after it locked up while she tackled another serving of pigs' feet at dinner.

Wei said she began her marathon binge after reading online that the collagen-rich food, a delicacy in China, is good for the skin.

In her zeal for the newfound knowledge, Wei consumed pigs' feet soup with soybeans for every meal since New Year's Day.

But Wei got more than a mouthful around 7 pm on Saturday when she felt her jaw snap out of place.

Wei claimed she had attempted to reset her own jaw before realizing she had bitten off more than she could chew and sought medical attention.

An emergency room physician confirmed Wei's diagnosis and popped it back into place.

Some netizens dropped their jaws over the incident, which they say could have been avoided by softening the trotters with vinegar or using a pressure-cooker.
