The La Ba (腊八) Festival is celebrated on the eighth (ba, 八) day of the 12th month (la yue 腊月). It is one of the most important traditional festivals in Chinese culture.

Chinese people celebrate La Ba Festival with La Ba porridge, often made with rice, peanuts, green beans, red beans and lotus seeds. La Ba-picked garlic is often eaten in Northern China on this day as well. (Source: China Daily)
