Norway's double world champion Anders Bardal, 32, announced his retirement on Thursday ahead of the culmination of the current ski jumping season.
"After 25 years of ski jumping, 15 of them in the World Cup, I have decided to quit ski jumping," Bardal said in a statement.
"On Sunday, March 15th, 2015, I made my final jump on the Holmenkollen [in Norway]."
There is still one event to go in the World Cup season at Planica, Slovenia where Bardal will watch from the sidelines.
Bardal picked up seven World Cup victories in his career, and won the overall title in 2012, as well as bronze medals in the team event at the 2010 Winter Games and individual bronze on the normal hill at Sochi 2014.
