On March 26, Peak Sport made headway in the running sector of the athletic industry after signing contracts to participate in top international competitions. The brand signed a contract with the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Challenge Beijing 2015 and the 2015 Dalian International Marathon.
Peak also released its new super elastic running shoe, Peak Fly Running III, which is now available in the 6,000 Peak Sport retail stores in China, the company's official website and other online shopping platforms such as tmall.com, on which Peak has its own store.
"[Running] is the mother of sports and is also one of the most favored sports around the world," CEO of Peak Sport Xu Zhihua said. "As a professional and internationally-orientated sport brand, joining hands with IAAF World Challenge Beijing 2015 and Dalian International Marathon will promote Peak's name as well as the quality of our products worldwide."
As a leading international competition, IAAF World Challenge Beijing 2015 will draw 170 top athletes from home and abroad. Peak, as the official cooperative partner, will provide sportswear for the staff and volunteers of the match. In addition, those involved with the 2015 national racewalking competition and the 2015 national racewalking championship in Beijing will also receive Peak-sponsored jerseys.
This is the second time Peak has signed a cooperation agreement with the IAAF competition. Peak was also the supporter and sponsor of IAAF World Challenge in 2014 in Beijing, during which it provided Peak Fly Running series products for staff, volunteers and judges.
Apart from being involved in international competitions, Peak also engages with amateur athletes and ordinary runners. For instance, it hosted a running activity for the public that was initiated by IAAF in 2014, during which 2,000 people wearing shirts with Peak's logo ran at Olympic Forest Park in Chaoyang district. Peak will continue to participate in this running activity this year together with IAAF and promote the Peak Fly Running III running shoe.
The Peak Fly Running III has inherited the advantages of the Peak Fly Running II, and is designed with more shock absorption capabilities. The delicate mesh on the surface of the shoes makes the shoes lighter and more breathable.
Peak Sport has been long renowned for its basketball products, but they have their eye on doing more with running-related products in the future.
"As running is getting more and more popular, its corresponding products have become the second best-selling products after basketball," Xu said.
