Jordan on Saturday launched a competition among special forces squads from 18 countries, including China, the United Stated and Russia.
The competition showcases the skills of counter-terrorism teams and special forces from around the world, according to a statement issued by the event's organizer.
During the five-day contest, special forces members will compete with each other in shooting, counter-terrorism operations, as well as aircraft and building raids.
Col. Khaled Abu Hamad, a spokesman for event, said the contest provides a chance for special forces worldwide to meet and know each other as the terrorists have become international.
Jordan is a member of the US-led coalition against the Islamic State group, and has vowed to help eliminate terrorism in the region. In February, a video was released over the Internet, which showed a captured Jordanian pilot was burned to death by the militant group.
