According to a statement by Singapore's Linda Gallery this week, the works of two Chinese mainland artists will be presented at two exhibitions at the gallery starting from next month.

Featuring the work of Gong Xinru, the first exhibition, En Route, is expected to impress visitors with the artist's years of obsession with traffic signals, which were inspired by Gong's early experiences with his family.

From specific traffic signals to more abstract representations, Gong's works over the past years have demonstrated the artist's transformation to a new artistic style that tries to bring visitors deeper into his spiritual world, as well as show he is more than just a "signal artist."

The second exhibition, Substance, will gather the works of veteran artist Zhu Yancun, an artist known in art circles for his intensive study of different pigments made from different flowers and plants.

Involving spending much of his time outdoors every year observing and using different flowers to make pigments for his drawings, Zhu's method doesn't just let him capture the look of flowers with his drawings, but also adds an extra layer of enjoyment by embedding each painting with the natural scent of flower.

En Route will start from May 2nd and end on the 24th. Substance will debut on June 4th and end on the 28th of that month.
