A Chinese comedy A Hero or Not starring comedian Dapeng as the lead is set to make the nation laugh out loud on July 17. The name of the main character of the film Jianbing, or Pancake, Man gives a hint of the amusement to come.

The film follows a popular actor, also named Dapeng, whose life falls apart after an accident.

Since news of the film has been released, netizens have continued to guess at what super powers Pancake Man would have, like getting stronger after eating pancakes.

Not only playing the main character,Dapeng also wrote and directed the film, while gathering Chinese comedians such as Deng Chao, Yue Yunpeng in supporting roles. Veteran Hollywood action star Jean-Claude Van Damme will also make an appearance in the film.

Dapeng rose to fame in 2012 with his online sketch comedy series Diors Man on Sohu TV. The show shares a similar storytelling style with German sketch comedy show Knallerfrauen, which depicts jokes occurred in absurd situations. The main actress of Knallerfrauen, Martina Hill, joined the newest season of Diors Man last year.

A Hero or Not is being produced by the Diors Man team leading many to speculate that the comedy will be similar.
