Italian open-source software and hardware supplier Arduino announced that it would launch a series of new products, including Arduino Uno Pro and Arduino Tian, at the Maker Carnival in Shanghai on Sunday.

Arduino products are open-source electronic prototyping platforms that can be used to create interactive electronic devices.

Makers are do-it-yourselfers in the technology sector.

Arduino Uno Pro, which is an update of the company's star product Arduino Uno, features Wi-Fi functions.

Federico Musto, CEO of Arduino, said on Sunday that the company will establish a foundation to sponsor international makers, and Chinese makers might be "at the core of" this foundation.

It is also set to open an online flagship shop on  JD.com in the near future, said Arduino's PR representative Global Times.
