Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong met with Israeli Vice Prime Minister Silvan Shalom on Thursday, pledging to strengthen cooperation in innovation.

Liu said China will promote innovation-driven development to build a well-off society.

Shalom, who is in China for a forum on innovation in Shanghai, expressed willingness to cooperate more with China in science, health and culture.
