To celebrate the 65th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Indonesian and China, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia is pleased to present a group exhibition of the works of talented Indonesian and Chinese painters. The exhibition will run from 1 to 2 December 2015 at the Art Museum of China Central Academy of Fine Arts, Wangjing, Beijing.

The painting exhibition is co-organized with China Central Academy of Fine Arts and China International Cooperation Center. The exhibition is also supported by Jakarta-based Indonesia-China Art Association and Yogyakarta-based Redbase Foundation.

There will be 45 paintings by contemporary artists from both countries, many of which are the results of vibrant explorations of ideas and unconventional painting techniques. Among them, there will be paintings by 13 Indonesians artists coming from the main centers of Indonesian art development in Jakarta, Yogyakarta, and Bali.

One of the Indonesian artists is Sidik W. Martowidjojo, a renowend guohua painter, who combines Chinese and Indonesian techniques and influences to produce dreamy-like pieces of artistry.  Mr. Sidik has carried out solo exhibitions around the world, including at Paris' famous Salon de Louvre.

Other artists whose paintings will be featured include Nasirun and Sagita.  They are well-known first generation Indonesian contemporary painters, and their artworks have been revered in various corners of the world. Their artistry have also inspired so many younger artists in Indonesia, and captured the attention of foreign collectors.

There are also Uuk Paramahita, I Made Supena, William Robert Steven, Putu Edy Asmara, and Stefan Buana; all of them alumni of the Beijing International Art Biennale.  And to complete the list are I Wayan Sudarsana Yansen, Wara Anindyah, Yince Djuwidja, Erizal, and Januri.
