On Friday night streaming site iQiyi held its annual All Star Carnival, an awards show where users can vote for their favorite shows on iQiyi. Two Chinese TV dramas, The Journey of Flower and Nirvana in Fire, were crowned as Dramas of the Year.

Both shows earned high reputations among viewers for their good storytelling and acting. Leading actor Hu Ge from Nirvana in Fire grabbed Best Actor of the Year, while Wallace Huo and Zhao Liying, both starring in The Journey of Flower, were respectively crowned Most Popular Actor and Most Popular Actress of the Year.

According to event organizer iQiyi, the awards were selected based on three categories of indexes - online polls, expert reviews and search engine statistics.

The site's paid users or VIP members chose dramas The Lost Tomb and The Legend of S, as well as movie The Man From Macau 2 as this year's favorites.  

Developed from the site's previous All Star Concert, the All Star Carnival has grown into an annual event.

Nearly 100 showbiz stars and actors including Chen Kun, Hu Ge and Bai Baihe attended the red carpet ceremony before the awards early Friday night.
