On February 1, a special event named "Making dumplings to celebrate Spring Festival - 2016 Spring Festival gala of ambassadresses" took place at Wanfeng Snack Town in Fengtai district, which was attended by over 100 diplomats, representatives and their families and friends. Participants enjoyed traditional Beijing snacks, a range of performances such as a qipao show, Peking Opera, and an African drum show, while many joined in the dumpling making and calligraphy drawing festivities. Organized by the Commonwealth Society of Beijing, the event aimed to boost the interaction between the Chinese and international communities.
