Film ‘Lost in White’ to hit big screens in Chinese mainland on April 15

Chinese crime movie Lost in White will hit big screens across the Chinese mainland on April 15, according to a press release from the studios behind the film. The movie, directed and written by director Xu Wei, tells a story about a group hunting for the truth in in extremely cold conditions.

Hong Kong actor Tony Leung and mainland actor Tong Dawei play two policemen who must figure out the truth behind a corpse that is discovered  hidden in a frozen river.

The movie will be Leung's latest attempt playing a mainland police officer. In the movie, he partners with the young officer played by Tong Dawei. In the press release, Tong mentioned that he has become real life friends with Leung after shooting scenes featuring car chases on ice and rescuing people underwater.

Originally the production company planned on holding a media event on Wednesday to announce the release date of the film, but this was cancelled due to security concerns.

Prior to the event, the venue and date was leaked online leading to a huge crowd of fans swarming the hotel where the event was to take place that day. Additionally, ticket scalpers were discovered to be selling fake media passes to fans.
