In the latest in a series of poop-related incidents on China's public transport, a man in Kunming, Yunnan Province boarded a city bus and defecated then immediately rushed off.

Surveillance footage from the Route 121 city bus on Tuesday morning shows the man sit down and start rubbing his stomach in what appears to be discomfort.

After about 20 minutes, the man finally sneaks his trousers down and lifts his backside just enough to download a brown load on his seat, video shows.

He slipped off the bus at the next stop. He remains at large.

The fecal smear was first discovered by other boarding passengers filling up the bus.

Pinching their noses, some demanded that driver Zhu Lingmin pull over and let them off as the hot weather baked the freshly laid turd. 

But Zhu refused, apologizing that circle line buses have to complete their circuits. It was still 20 minutes to bus terminal, where she could clean up the mess, she explained.

Zhu made a beeline for the station, where passengers scrambled to get out.

As sanitation workers cleaned the seat, Zhu and her supervisors reviewed the footage, which showed the man defecate in the blind spot directly behind the driver.

Zhu said all he had to do was ask.

"If commuters have a bathroom emergency, they could tell the driver anytime. I'd have stopped the bus," she said.
