The traditional papermaking methods of Shiqiao village, a Miao ethnic village in Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Southwest China’s Guizhou Province were listed as national intangible cultural heritage in 2006. Paper crafted in Shiqiao village is used in restoration of ancient books at the National Library of China and National Museum of China. The paper is said to last more than 1,000 years.
