Editor's Note:
Peach flowers bloom in the Phabongka Monastery, a historical hermitage about 8 kilometers northwest of Lhasa, Tibet on April 16, 2018. Located 3,900 meters above sea level, the monastery's ancient peach tree grove blooms in late April every year. Phabongka, which in Tibetan means "palace on the giant rock", is the place where Thonmi Sambhota is believed to have invented the Tibetan script after being sent to India to study Buddhism by king Songtsen Gampo (617–649). The monastery is free to visitors and devotees.
