Editor's Note:
Honey hunting, an ancient tradition in Nepal, is a death-defying challenge to collect rare honey that involves climbing down cliffs as high as 150 meters with hand-woven rope ladders. The honey hunters use smoke from smoldering grass to drive away the Himalayan giant bees, whose honey fetches prices six-times greater than regular Nepali honey on Asian markets. Among its many characteristics, Himalayan giant bee honey is known for its hallucinogenic properties, according to National Geographic.
