Giacomo Gardumi, an Italian national, has recently been working as a volunteer at the Huashan Community in Shanghai where 50 percent of residents are foreigners to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic. He is mainly responsible for communicating with the international residents in his community about local epidemic control measures, and understands their needs amid the coronavirus spread. He has been living in China for over two decades. “I want to do anything I can for my community as Chinese people across the country have been making great efforts to fight the coronavirus,” Gardumi told the Global Times on Friday, noting that he hopes people from different countries and regions can unite together in this fight as the coronavirus spreads globally.(Photos: Chen Xia/GT)
