Fashion group Inditex plans to close 1,200 stores globally after record loses in Q1

Customers select items in two Zara stores in Shanghai Friday. The Galicia-based Inditex plans to close about 1,200 stores worldwide within two years, accounting for 13 to 16 percent of all its stores. Multiple brands of the group, including Zara, Massimo Dutti and Pull & Bear, will be affected. Inditex suffered a net loss of 409 million euro ($463 million) in Q1 amid the coronavirus, reports said.
