Editor's Note:
The water level of Huangpu River in Shanghai remained at a controllable level on Tuesday, while that of the upstream Taihu Lake, which crosses East China's Jiangsu and Zhejiang Provinces, exceeded the warning level for 17 consecutive days as of Tuesday. Four water channels along the Huangpu river in its surrounding areas have been opened to alleviate the rising flood pressure from Taihu Lake. (Photos: Yang Hui/GT)
