Huawei is building its largest R&D center in Jinze town of Shanghai’s Qingpu district. Jinze, located in the southwest corner of the city and boasting vast farmlands and a pleasant ecological environment, is a pilot zone of the integrated green development of the Yangtze River Delta region. Huawei’s R&D center, which will cover an area of 2,400 mu (160 hectares), is expected to host about 40,000 R&D personnel in the future, accounting for about 8.3 percent of the company’s global employees.
