Pudong New Area in Shanghai has overseen rapid growth in China’s ship-building industry as domestic manufacturers complete the world’s largest LNG carrier, which is often dubbed as the “crown jewel” of the global ship-building industry.   Located in the area, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., owned by state-run China State Shipbuilding Corp., has delivered and is currently developing 30 LNG carriers, which carry 25 million cubic-meters of LNG every year, helping upgrade China’s energy infrastructure.
