Editor's Note:
China's 40-day Spring Festival travel rush has kicked off on Thursday. The passenger flow of this year's Spring Festival will likely be lower than last year due to the virus. Beijing West Railway Station expects the holiday travel rush to peak between February 16-18, and an estimated 70,000 passengers on average arriving at the station a day.

Beijing West Railway Station has implemented strict virus prevention and control measures, including infrared thermometer measurement, "one-meter line" to remind passengers to maintain social distancing, ensuring ventilation in the waiting areas, and increasing the frequency of disinfection at the station.

The station also introduced contactless elevator controls and additional free face mask pick-up machines. Photos: Li Hao/GT
