As the May Day holidays approach, Beijing's transportation hub is experiencing a peak in passenger flow, with a significant increase in the number of people traveling to and from the capital.
Shanghai is expected to transport 580,000 passengers on April 30, the first peak day of the forthcoming five-day May Day holidays. This marks almost the record number of daily passenger trips traveling from Shanghai in history.
This is the first long holiday where people can enjoy outdoor trips in the best season of the year since the virus hit. 265 million passenger trips are expected to take place over the coming May Day holidays, according to the Ministry of Transport.
