Around 20 young people took part in a friendly curling competition in Shanghai on Sunday, most of whom have been practicing this sport for at least three years. One of the students taking part in the event told the Global Times that she dreamed of being a curling referee in the future. Earlier in April this year, a floor curling event for people with disabilities was also held in Shanghai, with over 100 players participating. Due to space limitations, floor curling could be a good way for more residents to learn about this sport, Li Lingshu, who will serve as deputy chief timer for the upcoming Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, told the Global Times on Sunday.
