China's largest flower event welcomed a large number of visitors on its opening day Friday on Shanghai's Chongming island, despite a number of sporadic COVID-19 cases across the country. The expo is expected to welcome around 3 million visitors.

International friendship city gardens designed by companies from Spain, Israel, the UK, South Africa, Italy, the Netherlands and Canada are on display at the expo. A castle model designed by the Shanghai Disneyland Resort, which was decorated with beautiful flowers, was also on display, attracting both adults and kids. Photos: Yang Hui/GT
