Fans in Shanghai line up overnight to purchase CPC commemorative stamps, envelopes

A numerous of postal fans lined up at Shanghai Post on Thursday to purchase commemorative stamps and envelopes to celebrate the Communist Party of China’s (CPC’s) 100th anniversary. Yang Chaode, 66, from China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, lined up from Wednesday afternoon. Yang was excited to purchase the stamps, “my friends in Xinjiang are waiting for me to send letters to them with the postmark in Shanghai, the birthplace of CPC on July 1,” Yang told the Global Times on Thursday. China Post issued a set of 20 commemorative stamps and a commemorative cover, revealing the 100-year journey the CPC has traveled. The stamps use red and gold as the main tones of the picture.
