Shanghai schools on Monday disinfected campuses and rehearsed for emergencies to prepare for the new semester starting on September 1. At Xuhui Experimental School affiliated to Fudan University, working staff were seen disinfecting the campus so that students can return to a safe and comfortable learning environment. Also, at Shanghai Luwan Middle School, teachers simulated the school day, with a robot monitoring and welcoming each person entering the teaching building. Meanwhile, another robot will disinfect the campus each day after 7 pm. All teachers and students will receive an anti-epidemic package with face masks, disposable gloves, hand sanitizer, alcohol-disinfect wipes and so on. Under the recent guidelines to reduce students’ burden of compulsory education, specifically excessive homework and off-campus tutoring, each school issued detailed measures to make students’ in-campus life more enjoyable and regulated.
