Beijing schools launch after-class programs as new semester starts on Wed

Beijing’s primary and secondary students started a new school term on September 1. This is also the first school year after the implementation of the 'double reduction' policy to ease the burden on students and parents. Schools in Beijing launched after-class programs for all students.

Huilongguan Yuxin School Attached to the Capital Normal University offers a total of 105 after-class courses which are mainly divided in two areas: cultural literacy and interest cultivation. The first is focused on Chinese, mathematics, English and other test subjects, while the later offers courses on disciplines like music and sports. Photos: Li Hao/GT
