Editor's Note:
Residents in Beijing walked outdoors to play in the first snow for 2021, which fell heavily from Saturday night to Sunday afternoon. Sunday marks the solar term Lidong, or “the beginning of winter,” on China’s lunar calendar. This year’s first snow in Beijing comes roughly 23 days earlier than the average recorded dates in previous years, according to China’s meteorological authority. Photos: Cui Meng/GT
