Editor's Note:
Heavy snow falls as forecasted on Sunday and has impacted the outdoor competition venues of the Beijing Winter Olympics. The Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (BOCOG) responded quickly and is working to eliminate the influence of the blizzards.
As the snowfall arrived at the Zhangjiakou Competition Zone, the ice shovel and snow removal team started the emergency plan. Staff in charge of sports, mountain operation and other venues were dispatched to clear snow and ensure the normal operation of the venue.
To ensure the safety and fairness, the BOCOG coordinated with IOC and Global Association of International Sports Federations to reschedule competitions that may be influenced by the blizzards. Photos: Cui Meng/GT
